rlg focal entry point into The Gambia was via capacity building of Gambian youths. The training scheme was hinged on the partnership between Unique Solutions Company Limited and The Gambia Priority Employment Programme (GAMJOBS) under the Ministry of Trade, Regional Integration Industry and Employment of the Gambia (MOTIE). After having signed an MoU, the partners launched the pilot phase of the training programme for 70 Gambian youths out of almost 400 applications in the application of ICT in mobile phone maintenance, repairs, servicing, assembling and entrepreneurial skills at the Unique Solution’s Head office in Banjul.

“The main goal of this public private partnership is to equip unemployed Gambian youths with specialized employable skills in mobile phone repairs and entrepreneurial skills that will make them socially responsible, financially independent and ultimately offer them the needed future job security. These important attributes have indeed been identified as realistic prerequisites for national growth and socio economic development in the Gambia and the subregion,” said Papa Yusupha Njie, CEO of Unique Solutions and chief driver of the rlg Communications Gambia Ltd.
