Who we are

The Nigerian Stakeholders for Data Protection Awareness (NSDPA) is a body of concerned citizens focused on raising awareness on data protection and its significance to the New Economy so as to empower as many citizens in the Digital Economy across all sectors whether agriculture, mining, electrification, finance and markets; data protection and awareness matters. The NSDPA draws membership nationwide from the media, academic, government, and private sector organisations, etc.  

Who the NSDPA is working with

The NSDPA is in partnership with Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), Nigeria’s data protection regulator and statutory implementer of the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA 2023); professional organisations such as the Association of Licensed Data Protection Organisations of Nigeria (ALDAPCON), media organisations, etc.

To raise awareness on Data Privacy/Protection and how it connects to the (Digital) Economy

Our Modus

Involve Governments. Leverage local languages and tech tools including Traditional & Media. Engage Local Content Creators to Spread the Awareness in a way that deepens the Creative Economy of Hosting States.

Data Protection is a whole new industry worth over $750 billion globally and accounts for over N90 billions of Nigeria’s GDP in 2023. Are Nigerian States part of this? Are state-owned MDAs already involved in Nigeria’s fast growing data protection economy? Are the states aware or even focused on How Many jobs can be created for thousands of youths coming out of higher education institutions in the next four years?
