The new platform, accessible via services.gov.ng, is designed to revolutionise how citizens, businesses and government institutions interact by providing a single online destination for discovering, accessing and managing public services offered by Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

The initiative eliminates the need for users to navigate multiple government websites, significantly simplifying service delivery while laying the foundation for a fully integrated digital government ecosystem.

The soft launch, held at Galaxy Backbone’s National Shared Services Centre (NSSC) in Abuja, attracted senior government officials, development partners, technology stakeholders and members of the media.

A Major Step Towards Digital Government

The Government Service Portal represents one of Nigeria’s most ambitious digital government initiatives, bringing together critical public services under a single digital infrastructure that promises faster, simpler and more efficient engagement between government and citizens.

Rather than operating through isolated agency portals, Nigerians will increasingly access government services through one trusted platform that supports seamless navigation, authentication and service delivery.

The initiative aligns with the Federal Government’s vision of transforming public administration through technology while improving transparency, accountability and operational efficiency.

Strategic Partnership Driving Digital Transformation

The platform was jointly developed through a strategic collaboration involving:

  • Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy (FMCIDE) – Policy and coordinating ministry driving Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda.
  • Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) – International development partner supporting Nigeria’s e-Government Masterplan 2.0 and digital public service modernization initiatives.

The collaboration reflects growing international support for Nigeria’s digital transformation programme and demonstrates the value of public-private-development partnerships in modernising government services.

Key Features Designed Around Citizens and Businesses

The Government Service Portal introduces several capabilities aimed at improving user experience and eliminating bureaucratic bottlenecks.

Single Sign-On (SSO)

Users can securely authenticate once and gain access to multiple government services without repeated registrations or separate login credentials for different MDAs.

Centralised Service Discovery

The platform provides a unified gateway through which citizens and businesses can easily locate, apply for, monitor and manage government services from one location.

Secure Inter-Agency Integration

The portal enables secure information sharing among government agencies, reducing duplication of processes, minimising paperwork and improving service delivery efficiency.

Portal Supports Nigeria’s Digital Public Infrastructure Vision

Speaking during the launch, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Galaxy Backbone, Professor Ibrahim Adeyanju, described the initiative as another important milestone in Nigeria’s digital transformation journey.

According to him, the portal reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to building a more connected, transparent, efficient and citizen-focused public service.

He explained that the Government Service Portal goes beyond being a conventional government website.

“The Portal is more than a website; it is the foundation of a unified digital gateway that places the needs of citizens and businesses at the centre of government service delivery.”

Adeyanju added that the soft launch provides an opportunity to onboard pioneer Ministries, Departments and Agencies, collect stakeholder feedback, strengthen system integrations and continuously enhance the platform before its nationwide rollout.

Advancing Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Digital Agenda

The Government Service Portal supports the implementation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda by strengthening Nigeria’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) ecosystem.

The platform complements existing investments in:

As more MDAs onboard their services, the portal is expected to improve public trust, enhance operational efficiency, strengthen transparency and support Nigeria’s ambition of building a modern digital government that delivers faster, smarter and more accessible public services.

By consolidating government services into one interoperable digital platform, Galaxy Backbone and its partners are laying the technological foundation for a more connected public sector and a digitally empowered economy.
