ALTON, the umbrella body representing licensed telecommunications operators in Nigeria, has remained a major stakeholder in the development and expansion of the country’s telecommunications industry.

Over the years, the association has engaged government, regulators and other stakeholders on policies and issues affecting the operations, sustainability and growth of telecommunications companies.

Through sustained advocacy, ALTON has consistently championed the need for a more conducive, predictable and sustainable operating environment capable of supporting investment and enabling operators to expand and improve services for millions of Nigerians.

Under the leadership of its Chairman, Gbenga Adebayo, ALTON has continued to serve as a strong voice for telecommunications operators on several critical industry issues.

These include regulatory policies, multiple taxation, infrastructure deployment, quality of service, spectrum management and right-of-way charges, among other challenges affecting investment and the long-term sustainability of Nigeria’s telecommunications industry.

Adebayo’s leadership and continued engagement with policymakers and other stakeholders have helped ensure that issues affecting operators and the broader communications ecosystem remain part of national conversations around digital infrastructure and economic development.
