The platform combines advanced AI software with intelligent agents that handle routine tasks across finance, sales, marketing, customer service, compliance, and more—freeing human teams to focus on high-value, judgment-driven work.
A “Human-First” Approach to AI
Unlike many AI technologies that position automation as a replacement for human labour, Tyms is built around the principle that people—not machines—bring judgment, experience, and strategic thinking that drive business success.
“Our mission is to empower humanity to do its best work,” said Allan Rwakatungu, co-founder and CEO of Tyms AI. “We built Tyms to help businesses around the world do their best work, with AI handling the drudgery and humans focused on the work that actually matters.”
Rwakatungu, an entrepreneur with more than 20 years of technology experience, brings deep industry experience to Tyms. His resume includes roles on MTN’s Mobile Money platform, founding the Ugandan startup mBet (which became betPawa), and launching Xente, a licensed fintech serving thousands of corporate customers.
Co-founder Arron Cleary is a seasoned angel investor whose early support of African startups includes Yobante Express, Asaak, Badili, and Rocket Health, and who provides an investor’s perspective on business and growth strategy.
How Tyms AI Works
Tyms AI equips every employee—and every customer they serve—with a personalised AI assistant. These assistants are designed to perform what the company calls “invisible work,” such as:
- Collecting, searching, and analysing data
- Synthesising insights and generating reports
- Monitoring systems and executing background jobs
- Supporting operational processes across departments
Because the assistants deliver intelligent, goal-oriented work rather than just mechanical task execution, they help teams work faster and more strategically. Human users then apply their judgment and domain expertise to finalise outcomes.
The platform is currently available on the web, with plans to expand to mobile apps and integrate with workplace communication tools like Microsoft Teams and Slack later this year.
Beyond Software: Training and Advisory Services
Recognising that successful AI adoption requires organisational readiness—not just tools—Tyms is launching two complementary offerings:
Best Work Masterclasses
Immersive training programmes designed to help professionals in finance, compliance, sales, marketing, and other functions understand and leverage AI within their specific domains.
AI Advisory Services
Consulting support to help medium and enterprise businesses assess AI readiness, plan implementation, and provide ongoing guidance to align AI tools with people, processes, systems, and data.
“Handing your team an AI copilot is not a strategy,” Allan said. “Businesses need to prepare their people, processes, systems, and data for AI. We help them do that, and then we help them succeed with it.”
Next Steps: Pilots, Partnerships and Funding
Tyms is actively engaging with medium and enterprise organisations to begin pilots and full deployments of the platform. The company is also exploring strategic partnerships with:
- Model providers
- Data centres
- Cloud service providers
- Technology solution firms
In addition, Tyms has opened its seed funding round to support growth, product expansion, and global market entry.
