Samsung excites Nigerian market with Galaxy Note 8

Tech giant Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd has unveiled its newest flagship model, Note 8 into the Nigerian market. The Galaxy Note 8 was first unveiled to the world at the company’s Unpacked event in New York, USA, on the 23rd of August 2017.

The Managing Director, Samsung Electronics West Africa, Paul Lee while speaking at the unveiling ceremony in Lagos noted that, since the launch of Note 1, technology has evolved as what was impossible six years ago has been made easy and impossible to live without.

The Galaxy Note 8 which is coated in Corning Gorilla Glass 5.0, has a 6.3-inch screen with Super AMOLED display, allowing for clearer videos and images with a resolution of 2,960 x 1440 (Quad HD). The device is also water and dust (IP68)-resistant. Users do not have to worry about getting the device damaged when accidentally dropped in water, as deep as 1.5 meters, for up to 30 minutes. The device stays with its users through rain or shine.

It boasts of a 6GB RAM, a 10nm processor, and expandable memory (up to 256GB) as well as offers users more flexibility for browsing the internet, streaming videos, playing games, and multitasking. The Galaxy Note 8 is equipped with two 12MP rear cameras with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) on both the wide-angle lens and the telephoto lens, allowing users capture crisp and sharp images.

With an edge-to-edge display that covers nearly the entire front face of the device, the Note 8 has the largest screen ever on a Note device. With the cinematic screen and Samsung’s cutting-edge Quad HD Super AMOLED display, movies look crisp and clear, photos are brilliant and games are truly immersive,” explained Lee.

The Director of Information, Communication & Technology for Samsung Electronics West Africa, Mr. Emmanouil Revmatas also reckoned that when it comes to smartphone cameras the company has been able to set the standards in delivering to consumers the best camera quality.

The Galaxy Note 8 is available in Midnight Black, Orchid Gray, and Maple Gold colors.
