This call was made during the Principal IT Stakeholders Forum 2025 held in Abuja, which centered on fostering alignment and synergy across the nation’s digital ecosystem.

Partnerships Are Key to Building a Digitally Empowered Nation

Speaking at the event, NITDA’s Director-General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, represented by Dr. Aristotle Onumo, Director of Stakeholders Management and Partnerships, emphasized that digital transformation cannot be achieved in isolation.
He stated:

“Building a digitally powered Nigeria is a collective responsibility. Collaboration is the key.”

Abdullahi reiterated NITDA’s commitment to driving inclusive growth through its Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP 2.0) 2024–2027, which focuses on six key pillars — digital literacy and talent development, building a technology research ecosystem, strengthening cybersecurity and digital trust, fostering innovation, enhancing digital services, and promoting emerging technologies.

He urged all stakeholders to participate in NITDA’s digital literacy initiatives, noting that inclusive digital education is central to achieving the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Forum Promotes Synergy Among IT Professionals and Policymakers

The event, jointly organized by NITDA and the NCS Abuja Chapter, brought together IT professionals, policymakers, innovators, and industry leaders to discuss strategies for building a coherent and unified technology ecosystem.

In his remarks, John Odumesi, Chairman of the NCS Abuja Chapter, said the forum provided a platform for stakeholders to co-create and deliberate on solutions that can drive sustainable national development.

“Synergy among IT professionals, government, and industry players is essential for accelerating innovation and economic growth,” Odumesi noted.

Keynote Address Highlights the Power of Collaboration

Delivering the keynote address, Mrs. Ibukun Odusote, Fellow of the Nigeria Computer Society and former Federal Permanent Secretary, commended NITDA for spearheading a timely and strategic initiative.

Speaking on the theme, “Aligning Perspectives, Building Synergies: Forging a Unified IT Ecosystem for National Growth,” she traced Nigeria’s IT development journey and stressed the need for cooperation over competition.

“Progress in the IT space cannot be achieved in silos. We must complement one another rather than compete if we are to realize our national aspirations,” she said.

Stakeholders Commit to Advancing Nigeria’s Digital Economy

The forum concluded with a strong consensus that Nigeria’s digital transformation requires a unified approach involving government, industry, and academia.
