Enforcement on National Identification Number (NIN) to Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) is expected to begin in April. All phone users with unverifiable data will be pulled off networks. 
The Federal Government has urged Nigerians to urgently link their NIN to (SIM as the deadline for data verification, NIN-SIM linkage closes soon following an extension to 31st of March, 2022.
This was expressed in a statement signed jointly by Director Public Affairs, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr. Ike Adinde and Head of Corporate Communications, National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Mr. Kayode Adegoke.
“Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami  has urged citizens and legal residents to use the next few days to ensure that they complete the linkage.”
NIN-SIM ennrolment is still below 90 million despite several extensions and telecom regulator’s account indicating subscribers to be above 180 million.
According to the statement, the “minister has further directed that the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to offer enrolment services round-the-clock for the next few days,”
