The radio programme will air on Municipal FM 95.3 Abuja and is designed to serve as an accessible and practical platform for conversations around online safety, cybercrime prevention, digital rights, cyber awareness, and emerging technology trends. With internet access becoming increasingly widespread among young people, the programme seeks to address the growing risks associated with digital exposure while promoting responsible and informed online behaviour.
Addressing Rising Digital Risks Facing Young People
As children and teenagers spend more time online for education, entertainment, and social interaction, concerns around cyberbullying, online exploitation, data privacy breaches, and cyber fraud have continued to rise. C-C Pro’s new radio programme aims to respond to these challenges by equipping families with knowledge that is both relevant and easy to understand.
“Cyber Talks with C-C Pro” will focus on practical guidance that helps young people navigate the digital space safely, while also empowering parents and guardians to better understand the online environments their children interact with daily. The programme is expected to break down complex cyber concepts into relatable discussions that resonate with a broad audience.
Building on the Momentum of a Successful Awareness Campaign
The launch of the radio programme comes on the heels of C-C Pro’s widely praised 12 Days of Christmas Cybersecurity Social Media Awareness Campaign. The campaign, which ran during the festive season, shared daily safety tips and cyber awareness messages aimed at protecting children and families during a period known for increased online activity.
Stakeholders and parents commended the initiative for its timeliness and relevance, noting that the information provided helped families guide their wards on safe internet use while avoiding common cyber traps.
Many of the tips focused on issues such as safe social media practices, recognizing online scams, protecting personal information, and reporting suspicious online behaviour.
The positive reception of the campaign further highlighted the need for sustained cyber awareness initiatives beyond social media, paving the way for a more interactive and continuous platform such as radio.
CEO Highlights the Programme’s Educational Focus
Speaking on the new initiative, the Chief Executive Officer of C-C Pro, Delmwa Gogwim, explained that the radio programme is designed to deepen cyber awareness and provide practical tools for families navigating today’s digital world.
According to her, the programme aims to help young people and parents enjoy the benefits of cyberspace while remaining alert to potential dangers. She emphasized that digital safety is no longer optional, but a critical life skill that must be developed early.
Gogwim noted that “Cyber Talks with C-C Pro” will feature real-life conversations, expert insights, and relatable scenarios that address everyday digital challenges faced by families. The programme will also encourage responsible digital citizenship, helping listeners understand not only how to stay safe online, but also how to act ethically and respectfully in digital spaces.
Encouraging Collective Responsibility for Child Online Protection
Beyond individual awareness, C-C Pro stressed the importance of collective action in addressing cyber threats. Gogwim called on relevant stakeholders, including parents, educators, policymakers, civil society organisations, and technology-focused institutions, to support the initiative.
Noting that building a safer cyber environment for children and young people requires collaboration across sectors, as cybercrime and online risks continue to evolve alongside technology. By fostering open dialogue and shared responsibility, initiatives like “Cyber Talks with C-C Pro” can contribute to long-term behavioural change and improved digital resilience.
Partnership with Municipal FM Abuja
Gogwim also expressed appreciation to Municipal FM Abuja for providing a platform to drive critical conversations around child protection and digital safety. Acknowledging the station’s support for public-interest programming and its role in amplifying messages that promote social good.
The programme is expected to engage diverse audiences, including those who may not be active on social media or other digital platforms.
Programme Schedule and Expectations
“Cyber Talks with C-C Pro” will air every Tuesday from 8:30am to 9:00am on Municipal FM 95.3 Abuja. The weekly programme is positioned to become a regular source of trusted information on cyber safety, digital rights, and emerging technology issues affecting young people and families.
As Nigeria continues to embrace digital transformation, initiatives such as this radio programme underscore the growing recognition that cyber safety education must keep pace with technological advancement. Through consistent engagement and community-focused dialogue, C-C Pro hopes to contribute meaningfully to a safer and more informed digital future for young people across the country.
