ATCON-NIGERIA

The Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria (ATCON has announced plans to collaborate with AfriNICto host a 4-day IPv6 Training Course which will take place in Lagos, 14th – 17th July, 2015.

 

According to a release circulated by the ATCON Secretariat, registration for the course has begun online via the link http://learn.afrinic.net/trp1/node/23/

 

ATCON has confirmed that the course is free of charge to participants though each participant is expected to come with his or her own laptop. It says ATCON offers the course in partnership with AfriNIC to provide a veritable opportunity for industry players who are not yet members of the Association to benefit from industry knowledge sharing which has been one of the cardinal objective of ATCON.

Target participants at the workshop include network engineers and systems administrators who understand how to design and build IPv4 networks in the African telecoms industry including the academics. Resource persons for this workshop are international experts coming from outside Nigeria

 

The workshop is expected to provide impetus for Nigerian network operators to migrate from IPV4 to IPV6 with its attendant advantages; provide qualitative training for those engineers that managed our networks which would help, as we tackle the problem of quality of service in the telecommunication industry; provide Nigerian network engineers with the required knowledge to compete favourably with their counterpart in the global market; enhance, as well as upgrade, the performance of our Network Engineers on network management with the ultimate goal of ensuring the sustainable growth of the Nigerian telecom industry; as well as boost the productivity level of our network engineers.
