The United States (US) Embassy in Nigeria this week in Jos visited Tomruk iHub Multiverse for an interactive session on how to solve the challenges threatening Nigeria’s democracy and future. The team was welcomed by Founder of Tomruk, Job David Ayuba.

Tomruk manages series of Social Media driven initiatives focused on promoting entrepreneurs, peace-building, and community development. The initiatives include the Social Media for Social Good (SMSG) enterprise.

The US Embassy officials led by Chargé d’Affaires, David J. Young tasked Tomruk and its partners on using social media for grassroots awareness, mobilization, inter-communities peace-building and sustainability of communal security.
The session also had in attendance, founder of nHub, Daser Davud and CEO of Knowhow Media International (publishers of IT Edge News), Olusegun Oruame.

In response, Ayuba highlighted the work of Tomruk at using social media for mass awareness even as he stressed the need for collaboration between community based organisations like Tomruk and the US embassy on fostering peace and democracy through social media.
