The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has signed strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Canadian technology companies Goose FL and Fireflies AI, strengthening Nigeria’s drive to expand its digital footprint through international technology partnerships.

The agreements were signed during the Nigeria–Canada Investment Forum and the Nigeria Investment Economic Conference in Toronto, Canada, and witnessed by NITDA Director-General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi.
The partnerships are expected to support Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda through technology transfer, artificial intelligence (AI), financial inclusion and digital capacity development.
NITDA Deepens Nigeria-Canada Technology Cooperation
The agreements bring NITDA into strategic collaboration with Goose FL, a developer of federated learning software for secure financial fraud detection, and Fireflies, an AI-powered meeting assistant and transcription platform that automates note-taking, transcription and workflow summaries across video-conferencing applications.
The partnerships reflect NITDA’s growing focus on leveraging global technology expertise to strengthen Nigeria’s domestic digital capabilities while creating opportunities for innovation and economic development.
Financial Inclusion Takes Centre Stage
One of the core areas of the partnership is expanding financial inclusion through technology.
The collaboration is expected to support the development of innovative digital solutions aimed at broadening access to financial services, particularly for underserved communities.
