Daser David Named Chairman of National Digital Literacy Committee
The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has appointed Daser David, President and CEO of the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI), as Chairman of the National Digital Literacy Technical Working Committee. His appointment, announced by the Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, highlights DBI’s strategic role in advancing Nigeria’s digital capacity and inclusion efforts.

The inauguration of the committee was officiated by Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, Permanent Secretary of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), during NITDA’s Digital Literacy Workshop in Abuja.
Broad Stakeholder Representation
Committee members were drawn from critical stakeholders across Nigeria’s digital ecosystem. These include the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), ENGAUSA, GIZ, and others. This multi-stakeholder structure is expected to foster robust institutional collaboration and long-term sustainability of digital literacy initiatives.
Workshop Theme: 95% Digital Literacy by 2030
The two-day workshop was themed “Building Sustainability Towards Achieving 95% Digital Literacy Level by 2030.” It brought together senior government officials, private sector experts, and international development partners.
In his goodwill address, Daser praised NITDA’s leadership and reaffirmed DBI’s full commitment to Nigeria’s National Digital Literacy Framework (NDLF). He noted that DBI is ready to help build inclusive digital capacity nationwide.
Government Ministers Back the Digital Vision
The event witnessed strong endorsements from key ministries, including:
- Hon. Ayodele Olawande Wisdom, Minister of Youth Development;
- Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad, Minister of State for Education;
- Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, Minister of Women Affairs.
Their participation signified cross-sectoral support for achieving a digitally literate and empowered Nigerian population.
DBI Reaffirms Commitment to National Goals
Mr. Nzeih Chukwuemeka, DBI’s Head of Learning and Development, emphasized the institution’s alignment with global digital education frameworks. He reiterated DBI’s role as a trusted partner in driving inclusive digital transformation across Nigeria.
