The commendation came during her inspection of NASENI’s facilities in Abuja, led by Executive Vice Chairman/CEO Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu. Sites visited included the NASENI Innovation Hub, the Abuja Technology Village technology site, the NASENI Troment facility, and the Abuja Technology Park in Idu Industrial Area.

Dr. Oduwole’s visit was part of a broader effort to assess Nigeria’s industrial capacity and identify high-impact projects driving the Federal Government’s Nigeria First Policy — an agenda focused on boosting local manufacturing, encouraging domestic consumption, and creating jobs through industrialisation.

Showcasing 100% Made-in-Nigeria Products

Speaking to the press after the tour, Dr. Oduwole expressed satisfaction at witnessing tangible results rather than just plans and agreements.

“What I have seen today is actual 100% Made-in-Nigeria products. I have seen happy investors, driven to deliver quickly, setting the pace nationally, regionally, and globally,” she said.

During the tour, the Minister explored NASENI’s product showroom at Abuja Technology Park, the Troment factory — set to produce world-class pharmaceuticals including HIV vaccines — and the Innovation Hub showcasing advanced technologies.

A Catalyst for Economic Transformation

Dr. Oduwole described NASENI’s innovations as a catalyst for Nigeria’s economic transformation, commending Mr. Halilu’s leadership and urging him to continue prioritising knowledge transfer, youth inspiration, and the commercialisation of homegrown technologies.

“The potentials I have seen here today can transform the national economy,” she remarked, noting that NASENI’s work directly supports domestic content development.

Call for Stronger Collaboration

In his response, Mr. Halilu thanked the Minister, Permanent Secretary Ambassador Nura Abba Rimi, and other ministry officials for their visit. He called for deeper collaboration between NASENI and the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment to boost local productivity and innovation.

Mr. Halilu also urged the media to adopt developmental journalism to highlight Nigeria’s industrial achievements. He revealed that NASENI has over 40 market-ready products capable of competing globally, with more innovations in development.
