The Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Ltd is taking a leading role in expanding the nation’s digital connectivity, especially in underserved rural areas. This was emphasised by Mr. Ifeanyi Akosionu, Managing Director of INQ Nigeria Ltd. He spoke during a recent visit to NIGCOMSAT’s headquarters in Abuja.

Akosionu praised Mrs. Jane Nkechi Egerton-Idehen, CEO of NIGCOMSAT Ltd, for the agency’s pivotal role in driving the Federal Government’s connectivity initiatives. He highlighted NIGCOMSAT as the key entity capable of fulfilling Nigeria’s connectivity goals. This is particularly so in bridging the digital divide in rural regions.
The INQ’s boss acknowledged the developmental gaps in Nigeria and partnership’s potential with NIGCOMSAT. This would bring digital access to even the remotest parts of the country and continent. “I am proud to embark on this journey with such a reputable public sector partner under the leadership of Mrs. Egerton-Idehen,” he stated.
Egerton-Idehen shared her enthusiasm for the collaboration with INQ. She noted that NIGCOMSAT is well-positioned to improve connectivity for Nigerians and the broader African continent. The NIGCOMSAT CEO stressed the importance of maintaining focus to achieving the shared goals.
