The Digital Bridge Institute (DBI), with sponsorship from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), has commenced training for 10,000 workers in Nigerian tertiary institutions.
The initiative, under the Advance Digital Empowerment Programme for Tertiary Institutions (ADEPTI 2025), aims to strengthen digital literacy, ICT adoption, and teaching innovation in universities, polytechnics, and colleges nationwide.

Training Across Four Centers Nationwide
The programme kicked off on Monday at the University of Ilesa, Osun State, alongside three other centers:
- Nigerian Army University, Biu (Borno State)
- Rivers State School of Nursing Sciences and Management Technology, Port Harcourt
- Federal University, Birnin-Kebbi (Kebbi State)
Each participating institution will have 100 staff members trained, ensuring broad coverage across 100 tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
Federal Government and Academia Endorse Digital Capacity Building
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilesa, Prof. Taiwo Olufemi Asaolu, described the ADEPTI programme as a landmark initiative that aligns with the Federal Government’s vision of fostering technological proficiency in education and research.
He stressed that digital skills are vital for enhancing university rankings, research outputs, and global competitiveness.
“Our university has invested heavily in digital technologies, WiFi services, and IT workshops. This workshop, covering Data Analysis, Cybersecurity, and Emerging Technologies, aligns perfectly with our vision,” he noted.
DBI Reaffirms Commitment to Digital Empowerment
Representing DBI President/CEO David Daser, the centre coordinator Prince Soji-Eze Fagbemi emphasized that the programme is fully funded by NCC and implemented by DBI, Nigeria’s foremost ICT training institute.
He urged participants to embrace the opportunity, assuring that expert instructors will deliver high-quality sessions to improve teaching, research, and innovation capacity.
“We are confident this 5-day training will significantly improve participants’ knowledge and their contributions to Nigerian tertiary education,” he said.
