BW Digital and BW ESS, globally recognized owners and operators of digital infrastructure and energy storage systems, have officially launched BW Velora, a new company dedicated to developing high-value, next-generation data center sites across the Nordic region and Canada.

As the demand for secure, sovereign digital infrastructure accelerates in an AI-driven world, BW Velora aims to address the strategic need for data localization, energy efficiency, and sustainability in the data center sector. The company will provide end-to-end solutions for digital infrastructure deployment—offering land, utilities, regulatory approvals, design, and execution—all to streamline development and accelerate time-to-market.

Leveraging BW Digital’s global expertise in digital ecosystems and BW ESS’s deep experience in renewable energy and energy storage in Europe, BW Velora positions itself at the intersection of technology, energy, and community development. The venture seeks to drive regional industrialization, stimulate innovation, and promote green growth by anchoring industries such as artificial intelligence, carbon capture, and advanced digital services.

Co-founded by industry veterans Paal Skoe, Nils Kristian Liveng-Ness, and Christian Ekeberg, BW Velora benefits from decades of experience in both infrastructure and energy project delivery. CEO Paal Skoe emphasized:
