The collaboration is expected to lead to the establishment of a world-class EPICENTRE hub within 21st Century Technologies’ Lagos facility, creating a strategic platform for research, renewable energy deployment, green technology incubation, and smart digital infrastructure development. The initiative aligns with Nigeria’s ambition to attract global investment into technology-driven, sustainable economic growth.

Sweden–Nigeria Business Forum Drives Strategic Alliance

The partnership agreement was formalised at the headquarters of 21st Century Technologies in Lagos during the Sweden-Nigeria Business Forum, themed “Driving Innovation and Investing in Green Infrastructure for Sustainable Impact.”

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Victoria Désiré, Crown Princess of Sweden, and Wale Ajisebutu, Chief Executive Officer of 21st Century Technologies Limited. The forum convened senior stakeholders from government, industry, and academia across both countries to explore collaboration opportunities in digital infrastructure, renewable energy, and sustainability.

Accelerating Sustainable Digital Infrastructure in Nigeria

Under the partnership, Sweden’s globally recognised expertise in clean technology and sustainable innovation will be combined with 21st Century Technologies’ robust digital infrastructure, extensive network footprint, and deep understanding of the Nigerian market.

The collaboration will focus on:

  • Renewable energy and clean power generation
  • Wind turbine and sustainable energy solutions
  • Green technology incubation and innovation hubs
  • Smart infrastructure and digital innovation platforms
  • Knowledge transfer, capacity building, and technology exchange

According to Ajisebutu, the partnership represents a strategic leap in building future-ready infrastructure for Nigeria’s digital economy.

“This partnership aligns with our objective to build resilient digital infrastructure that solves real problems and delivers sustainable solutions to Nigerians and businesses. Sustainability remains central to everything we do,” he said.

Strengthening Nigeria’s Green and Digital Transition

Speaking at the event, Crown Princess Victoria Désiré emphasised the urgency of accelerating the global green transition through innovation and cross-border collaboration.

“It is truly inspiring to see Nigerian and Swedish companies joining forces—co-developing solutions, sharing expertise, and driving innovation. The green transition cannot succeed through business partnerships alone; it must also involve academia and civil society,” she noted.

She added that sustainable solutions are already emerging across sectors such as renewable energy, mining, and transportation, expressing optimism that the new partnership would accelerate impact in Nigeria.
