This expansion strengthens Vertiv’s production capacity across infrastructure solutions, power management systems, and integrated rack technologies. It becomes critical as data centre operators race to scale faster and optimise time to first token for AI workloads.
Meeting Rising Demand for AI Factories
As artificial intelligence reshapes global computing, Vertiv said the investments are designed to support the rapidly evolving infrastructure. It will also service requirements of next-generation AI factories. The company’s growing manufacturing footprint enables faster deployment, scalable infrastructure, and integrated solutions that meet both current and future compute demands.
According to Vertiv, the expansion reflects a long-term view of AI as a secular growth trend that will continue to drive demand for advanced digital infrastructure.
CEO: Capacity Expansion Aligned with Long-Term AI Growth
Commenting on the announcement, Giordano Albertazzi, CEO of Vertiv, said the move represents another milestone in the company’s continuous capacity planning strategy.
He noted that the expanded footprint reinforces Vertiv’s commitment to delivering future-ready, high-density infrastructure solutions that allow customers to plan confidently across multiple generations of compute technologies.
Key Manufacturing Expansions Across the Americas
Vertiv outlined several major facility developments aimed at accelerating deployment and supporting high-density applications:
South Carolina: Scaling Modular Infrastructure Solutions
Two new manufacturing facilities in South Carolina will focus on Vertiv™ infrastructure solutions critical to accelerating data centre deployment. Once fully ramped, these sites are expected to increase regional capacity by nearly seven times.
The facilities will support production of Vertiv™ Integrated Power Modules—modular power infrastructure that can reduce deployment time by up to 50 percent—as well as Vertiv™ SmartRun, a prefabricated white space solution designed to accelerate and optimise data centre fit-outs. SmartRun can cut on-site deployment time by up to 85 percent compared to traditional build methods.
Pennsylvania: Expanding Rack and Containment Systems
Vertiv has also launched an additional manufacturing facility in Pennsylvania to expand production of racks and containment systems with integrated cooling. These cabinets are engineered for high-density AI data centres, enabling faster, more repeatable deployments than traditional on-site integration.
Mexico: Power Systems Capacity Growth
In Mexicali, Mexico, Vertiv is expanding its manufacturing operations to boost regional capacity by approximately 45 percent. The site will focus on power conversion, conditioning, and distribution technologies designed for both high-density AI workloads and conventional data centre applications.
Integrated Infrastructure for the AI Era
Vertiv’s expansion aligns with its broader strategy of delivering end-to-end infrastructure that functions as a single, integrated system. From grid to chip—and from chip to heat reuse—the company’s portfolio combines power, cooling, IT, and services to support efficient deployment and seamless scalability.
Backed by its expanded regional manufacturing capacity and integrated solutions portfolio, Vertiv said it is well positioned to help customers deploy faster, scale efficiently, and prepare for the next wave of AI-driven compute demand.
