Mr. Chidi Charles Agukwe, the CEO of Skymax Integrated Network Limited, has been honored as one of the “50 Most Valuable Personalities in Nigeria’s Digital Economy.” He was honoured for his outstanding contributions to digital inclusion, capacity development, and broadband expansion across Nigeria. This is particularly so in the underserved North-East region.

The recognition was conferred at the 50 MVPs Award Ceremony, hosted by Knowhow Media, publishers of IT Edge News.Africa, during a high-level gathering that featured policymakers, tech entrepreneurs, innovators, and ecosystem enablers across the Nigerian ICT landscape.
Skymax: Bridging Nigeria’s Digital Divide with Vision and Commitment
According to the organizers, Mr. Agukwe’s leadership at Skymax Integrated Network has significantly advanced the company’s position as a leading internet service provider (ISP) in Nigeria’s North-East. Skymax has also investing in human capital development through targeted ICT and solar installation training programs for students and young professionals.
“Agukwe’s robust experience in the ICT and telecommunications industry is widely sought after.“ He has trained engineering students in universities and polytechnics, equipped youths with hands-on skills in ICT and solar technology, and demonstrated an unwavering commitment to empowering Nigeria’s next generation of digital professionals,” said the event organizers.
Sector Leaders Call for Action on Talent, Infrastructure & Policy
The event also featured keynotes from leaders such as Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State—represented by Deputy Governor Dr. Sam Ode—and Engr. Ikechukwu Nnamani, CEO of Digital Realty and former President of ATCON. Their addresses called for stronger collaboration among government, private sector, and academia to close Nigeria’s digital infrastructure and talent gap.
“Nigeria’s greatness will not be measured by oil barrels but by how many youths it empowers through digital skills,” said Governor Alia.
“We must act fast to address infrastructure gaps, or risk losing our edge in the global digital race,” added Engr. Nnamani.
Agukwe: ‘We Must Bridge the Digital Gap and Leave No One Behind’
In his remarks, Agukwe dedicated the award to the Skymax team, commending their collective efforts in driving the company’s mission to deliver affordable, reliable digital access in marginalized communities.
“This award serves as a catalyst for us to do even more. Nigeria has made commendable progress, but we must keep pushing to bridge the digital gap and leave no one behind,” he said.
Mr. Agukwe holds a Master’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and several industry certifications.
