It was a memorable night of honour, elegance, and digital distinction as the Titans of Tech Awards 2025 celebrated Nigeria’s foremost technology leaders. Held under the theme “Game Changers – Shaping the Future of Technology,” the event spotlighted innovators and policymakers who have profoundly shaped the nation’s digital journey.

A Night of Glory for Nigeria’s Tech Trailblazers

The ceremony attracted key figures from the public and private sectors, celebrating achievements in digital innovation, policy, and enterprise. One of the night’s most prestigious recognitions—the Lifetime Achievement Award—was bestowed upon Distinguished Senator Ayo Arise, a legendary figure often referred to as “The Cardinal of Cards” and “The Digital Statesman.”

Senator Arise: The Cardinal of Cards and Digital Pioneer

A powerful citation titled “Senator Ayo Arise – The Cardinal of Cards” reflected his pioneering role in Nigeria’s technology landscape. Senator Arise is renowned for his impact on ICT development, digital payments, biometric security, and national technology policy.

After beginning his technology career in the United States, he earned professional certifications including CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional, and a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning from Alabama A&M University.

Driving Fintech and Biometric Innovation in Nigeria

As founder of Cards Technology Limited (CTL)—recognized by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)—Senator Arise led Sub-Saharan Africa’s first Third-Party Processing Facility for MasterCard, making it possible for Nigerian banks to issue MasterCards locally. This innovation accelerated the adoption of e-commerce and cashless payments across Nigeria.

He is also Chairman/CEO of File Solutions Limited, a top provider of biometric and forensic technology, supporting identity management and security infrastructure for both public institutions and private corporations in Nigeria.

Merging Tech Expertise with National Policy

A true technocrat and policymaker, Senator Arise was a founding member of Nigeria’s Committee on Guidelines for Electronic Commerce, and played a global role via the Imaging Association of America.

During his time in the Nigerian Senate, he chaired the Committee on Privatization and served on several critical committees including Banking, Insurance & Financial Institutions, and Foreign Debt—bringing his tech-forward insights into national decision-making.

In his acceptance speech, Senator Arise said:
