Following the success of its first cohort, the RevUp Women Initiative is officially launching its Nigeria Edition on July 11, 2025, during the 10th Anniversary of Lagos Startup Week hosted by Prime Startups. The new edition will focus on empowering 150 women-led businesses across Lagos, Abuja, and Abia—targeting key sectors like agribusiness and e-commerce.

This milestone underscores RevUp Women’s commitment to boosting female entrepreneurship in Nigeria through enterprise development, strategic mentorship, and access to grant funding opportunities.

Track Record of Impact: 2,426 Jobs Created Across Africa

The inaugural edition of RevUp Women supported 459 women entrepreneurs from Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Cameroon, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, creating 2,426 jobs and transforming business models through:

  • Financial management training
  • Digital transformation tools
  • Strategic mentorship programs

Ten standout participants received $10,000 each in grant funding, gaining mentorship from a global network of experts and investors.

Nigeria Edition: $24,000 in Grants and Regional Reach

The Nigeria Edition will provide tailored support to 150 women founders in:

  • Abia State

With an emphasis on innovation, scalability, and community impact, six outstanding businesses will share $24,000 in grant funding. Participants will also be matched with successful women mentors and introduced to a thriving community of like-minded entrepreneurs.

“With the right tools, training, and networks, we’ve seen ideas become impactful ventures.”

Visa Foundation Partnership: Strengthening Global Support for SMBs

The Visa Foundation, a strategic partner of the initiative, highlighted the importance of small businesses in economic transformation.

“Small businesses make up 90% of all companies and 70% of jobs globally,” said Chukwudi Onike, Program Officer at Visa Foundation.
“Our work with AfriLabs and RevUp ensures we reach more women entrepreneurs with capital, digital tools, and financial literacy.”

Vision for the Future: 50,000 Women-Led Enterprises by 2030

RevUp Women has set an ambitious goal of supporting 50,000 women entrepreneurs and creating over 152,000 jobs across Africa. With a proven impact model and a new Nigeria-focused cohort, the initiative is paving the way for inclusive innovation and economic resilience across the continent.
