In his nationwide broadcast marking the second anniversary of his administration on May 29, President Tinubu praised NASENI, under the leadership of Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, for driving transformative, high-impact projects that align with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Nowhere is placing young Nigerians at the heart of national development more evident than at NASENI,” President Tinubu stated. “The current management is making giant strides through bold programmes that are restoring dignity to work and opening new doors for our youth.”
President Tinubu highlighted several of NASENI’s innovative initiatives, including:
- Innovate Naija
- Irrigate Nigeria
- Asset Restoration Programme
- Renewable Energy and Innovation Park in Gora
- NASCAV Programme (training female drone engineers)
- Rapid Diagnostic Kit Factory – one of Africa’s most advanced
Through these efforts, NASENI is creating jobs, revitalizing infrastructure, empowering Nigerian youths, and fostering inclusive industrialization.
In alignment with the President’s focus on agriculture and food security, NASENI’s Irrigate Nigeria Project has deployed solar-powered irrigation systems. These systems are helping to boost local food production, support farmers, and stabilize food prices across the country.
President Tinubu also noted that NASENI has adopted a digital-first governance model. Through this, it is implementing real-time dashboards, end-to-end e-procurement, and a Unified ERP System. All of these helping to set new standards for transparency and efficiency in public sector operations.
Other notable initiatives by NASENI include:
- Establishing urea and coal-based production plants
- Launching a lithium processing and manufacturing facility
- Assembling electric vehicles and drones
- Expanding eco-friendly cookstove production lines
- Rehabilitating abandoned farm tractors
- Establishing NASENI Skill Acquisition Centres (NSACs) nationwide
Under Mr. Khalil Halilu’s leadership, NASENI is actively driving the digital transformation, green economy, and skills development agenda, positioning Nigeria as a hub for innovation and self-reliance in science and engineering.
“This is the movement we promised—a government of action powered by the energy and innovation of young Nigerians,” President Tinubu declared.
As NASENI continues to scale its national impact, its initiatives remain critical to fulfilling the government’s goals of economic diversification, industrialization, and sustainable development.
