CAC Praised for Consistency and Institutional Resilience
According to the NITDA Director General, many organisations experience early success only to decline over time, but CAC has continued to thrive through focused leadership and reform.
“We know organisations go up and come down, but some will keep thriving, thriving, and thriving, and today, this is what we are witnessing for CAC,” Abdullahi said.
He noted that from the onset of the current Registrar-General’s tenure, institutional transformation and digital innovation were made strategic priorities.
AI Adoption Critical in the Current Digital Era – NITDA DG
Abdullahi stressed that the present digital landscape demands more than conventional digitisation, emphasising that true transformation now lies in the integration of artificial intelligence into core business processes.
“We are in the AI era, and the only way to transform today is to embrace and integrate AI into your operations. This is exactly what the Registrar General is doing,” he stated.
NITDA to Support AI Integration Across CAC Processes
The NITDA boss assured CAC of continued collaboration to embed AI across its operational workflows, noting that AI deployment would enhance efficiency, intelligence, and service delivery.
According to him, AI adoption will:
- Simplify company registration and business management
- Infuse intelligence into operational workflows
- Strengthen cybersecurity and data protection
- Improve user experience for Nigerians and businesses
“With AI, it will infuse intelligence in everything you do and make things easy for Nigerians to register companies and manage businesses,” Abdullahi said.
Ethical AI, Cybersecurity and Fraud Prevention Prioritised
Abdullahi also highlighted the importance of ethical and responsible AI deployment, noting that advanced AI tools would help CAC stay ahead of fraudsters, prevent hacking, and curb unauthorised alterations of company records.
“At NITDA, we will make sure you deploy ethical and responsible AI in your operations, with the right guardrails in place,” he assured.
CAC Digital Reforms Reduce Registration Timeline to 24 Hours
Describing CAC’s digital reforms as bold and impactful, the NITDA DG revealed that company registration timelines have been reduced from several months to as little as 24 hours.
He added that deeper AI integration would further:
- Enhance name search and reservation
- Automate filings and compliance processes
- Improve corporate governance
- Significantly reduce fraud and errors
NITDA Reviews CAC Digital and AI Roadmaps
Abdullahi disclosed that NITDA continues to play an active role in reviewing CAC’s digital and AI transformation roadmaps, providing:
- Regulatory guidelines and standards
- Capacity-building and training support
- Safeguards for secure and people-centred digital services
He congratulated CAC management and staff, as well as members of the National Assembly for their sustained support, expressing optimism that the collaboration would further strengthen Nigeria’s digital business ecosystem in the years ahead.
