Commitment to Innovation, Service Excellence, and Accountability
At the heart of NIPOST’s transformation is a new operational model focused on innovation, accountability, value creation, and service excellence. The agency pledged to deliver superior postal and logistics services, with an emphasis on digital integration and customer satisfaction.
NIPOST extended gratitude to Dr. Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, for his leadership, and praised Barr. The agency also commended Postmaster General and CEO, Tola Odeyemi, for championing staff welfare, institutional reform, and capacity development.
Cashless NIPOST: New Era Begins July 1, 2025
A key highlight of the reforms is the transition to a fully cashless payment system across all post office counters nationwide. Effective July 1, 2025, NIPOST will no longer accept cash payments for any service. Customers will be required to make transactions using approved electronic payment platforms.
“A major highlight of the reform package is the transition to a fully cashless system. NIPOST stated that this shift will ensure safer, faster, and more transparent service delivery, and reflects its commitment to embracing digital innovation for operational excellence.
Performance-Based Culture and Institutional Integrity
In addition to technology adoption, the reforms include a new performance-based reward and recognition system aimed at motivating staff and promoting a culture of excellence. The initiative also introduces strict disciplinary measures to uphold integrity and institutional credibility.
Connecting Nigeria Through Digital Transformation
With these changes, NIPOST is repositioning itself as a dynamic, digitally driven organization, aligned with the federal government’s efforts to create a technology-first, service-oriented public sector.
