Nigeria has finally agreed to dialogue with Twitter over its recent ban in the country.

President Muhammadu Buhari has given the nod for a federal government team to iron out issues with the micro blogging site, according to a statement released today in Abuja by Segun Adeyemi, Special Assistant to the President (Media), Office of the Minister of Information and Culture.

In the Federal Government’s team are Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami; the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami SAN; and Minister of Information and Culture, Alhai Lai Mohammed .

Government banned Twitter operations in Nigeria after accusing the social media site of helping to foster activities that were putting Nigeria’s corporate entity in jeopardy.  

Others in the team include Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama; Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, SAN; Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN; and heads of some other relevant government agencies.
