FG Unveils Digital Platform to Deepen Women’s Economic Inclusion
The Federal Government has launched a new digital platform, the Happy Woman App. It is aimed at connecting Nigerian women to finance, skills development, markets, and government support. This is part of efforts to deepen women’s economic inclusion nationwide.

According to a statement from the Presidency, the secure digital interface is designed to expand women’s access to financial services, capacity-building opportunities, markets, essential services, and public-sector interventions across Nigeria.
Tinubu Expands Nigeria for Women Programme to 25 Million Beneficiaries
The launch of the Happy Woman App coincided with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s announcement of the expansion of the Nigeria for Women Programme (NFWP) to reach 25 million beneficiaries nationwide.
The programme’s pilot phase, implemented across six states, has already reached over one million women. This nationwide scale-up introduces the Happy Woman App as a core digital enabler of inclusion.
The app is available for download on android and iOS platforms. It provides women with a single digital gateway to economic opportunities and government-backed support initiatives.
Women Central to Nigeria’s Growth Agenda – Tinubu
Speaking at the Presidential Launch of the Programme Scale-Up at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, President Tinubu emphasised that Nigeria’s long-term growth is inseparable from women’s empowerment. He was represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
“A nation that relegates its women is a nation bound for implosion. We have long understood this truth. That is why this administration has not only placed women at the forefront of decision-making but has also entrusted them with leadership in causes that redeem our national promise,” the President said.
He noted that women play a critical role in economic development. They are also activey involved in family stability, community resilience, and national productivity.
Programme Targets Skills, Livelihoods and Sustainable Incomes
The Nigeria for Women Programme is designed to equip women with the skills, resources, and opportunities needed to engage in sustainable economic activities, improve household incomes, and drive community development.
The national scale-up seeks to strengthen women-led enterprises and integrate women more effectively into Nigeria’s formal and informal economies.
Four Pillars of the Nigeria for Women Programme
The programme is structured around four key components:
Building Social Capital:
Focuses on community engagement through the creation and strengthening of Women Affinity Groups (WAGs) to promote collective empowerment.
Livelihoods Programme:
Provides direct support for individual and group-based businesses, including grants and business development resources.
Innovation and Partnerships:
Encourages innovation and partnerships with local and international organisations to advance women’s economic opportunities.
Project Management, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning:
Ensures effective oversight, accountability, and continuous assessment of programme outcomes and impact.
Tinubu Calls for Stronger World Bank Support
President Tinubu described the goal of reaching 25 million women as ambitious but achievable, calling on the World Bank to strengthen its financing, technical assistance, and innovation partnerships to support the nationwide scale-up.
He also underscored the growing importance of digital inclusion, noting that technology has become foundational to effective service delivery, economic participation, and Nigeria’s global competitiveness.
