Verification, uploading of relevant student data for loan application
According to a statement by Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, Director of Strategic Communications at NELFUND, all accredited tertiary institutions in Nigeria are now required to request access to SLAS in order to verify and upload relevant student data for loan applications.
“This is a critical step that ensures the timely processing and disbursement of approved student loans,” Oluwatuyi stated.
“Institutions that have not yet onboarded onto the SLAS platform should promptly send an access request to [email protected].”
Once access is granted, institutions will be able to view a real-time dashboard to monitor student applications, verify submitted data, and track application status from verification to disbursement.
Oluwatuyi urged all educational institutions to act without delay for the benefit of their students, noting that verification and data uploads are mandatory steps before loans can be approved and disbursed.
Final approval, disbursement depend on confirmation and data upload
“For successful applicants, if your loan portal status currently shows ‘Verified,’ it means your application has passed the initial review. However, final approval and disbursement depend on confirmation and data upload by your institution,” she explained.
“Once the process is complete, your status will change to ‘Disbursed’ upon payment of your fees.”
She expressed NELFUND’s appreciation to institutions and student beneficiaries for their continued cooperation and patience as the Fund works to streamline and digitise the student loan process for improved accountability and access.
For further inquiries or assistance, stakeholders are encouraged to contact NELFUND via [email protected] or through the Fund’s official social media platforms.
