Mallam Yahaya also unveiled a three-point communiqué from the conference, outlining actionable reforms for government and key stakeholders:

  1. Convert Savings to Projects with Transparency – Publish a quarterly, naira-for-naira report detailing inflows, expenditures, and completed projects.
  2. Make Tax Fair, Simple, and Digital – Protect essential goods, phase out unjustified exemptions, and adopt digital-by-default compliance for all businesses.
  3. Protect the Future with Fiscal Rules – Introduce medium-term fiscal frameworks that safeguard investments in human capital and infrastructure, with a Project Maturity Gate before new borrowing.

MTN’s Broader Digital Transformation Vision

MTN’s participation in the ICAN conference aligns with its broader Digital Nigeria strategy, which seeks to empower professionals across sectors with the knowledge and tools to leverage emerging technologies for productivity and growth.

Kadri concluded by reaffirming MTN’s dedication to partnerships that foster digital inclusion, innovation, and capacity building, ensuring that Nigeria’s workforce remains globally competitive.
