Transforming Traffic Management Through Technology

According to Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, General Manager of LASTMA, the deployment of UAVs marks a shift from traditional analogue methods to digital intelligence, aligning with the state government’s vision for sustainable urban mobility.

With high-definition aerial monitoring, the drones will allow LASTMA to proactively manage traffic, prevent congestion, and respond swiftly to road accidents and emergencies.

Enhancing Safety and Emergency Response

The UAVs will provide real-time aerial oversight, enabling quicker interventions, better safety outcomes, and improved emergency response coordination. They are also expected to support security frameworks and encourage a more disciplined motoring culture.

Bakare-Oki assured Lagosians that the deployment will comply with privacy safeguards, ethical standards, and regulatory frameworks, maintaining transparency and public trust.
