Hayo Appointed Exclusive A2P Monetisation Partner for Zamani Telecom

The partnership is aimed at testing, identifying and preventing fraud across Zamani’s network traffic, while improving profitability, sustainability and trust within its A2P SMS business. Hayo will also deploy innovative pricing strategies designed to increase messaging volumes and prioritise high-value over-the-top (OTT) traffic.

Blocking Grey Routes and Protecting A2P Revenue

At the core of the engagement is Hayo’s SMS Firewall solution, which detects and blocks A2P SMS traffic terminated through grey routes into Zamani’s home network. The system ensures that all enterprise messaging traffic is routed through official, whitelisted channels and billed correctly.

This approach protects network integrity, eliminates revenue leakage and creates a transparent environment for legitimate enterprise messaging.

Enabling Global Tech Platforms in Niger

Hayo currently supports major global technology companies—including Alibaba, Apple, Google, Microsoft, Meta, Temu and TikTok—to deliver trusted and compliant A2P SMS traffic into Niger. Through this partnership, Zamani Telecom is positioned to become a preferred termination partner for international OTT and enterprise messaging providers.

“Our A2P monetisation strategies and SMS Firewall solutions ensure operators are protected from fraud while proactively blocking illegitimate traffic,” said Feraz Ahmed, CEO of Hayo. “Our model is built on win-win partnerships that enable long-term growth. By delivering on-the-ground innovation in Niger, we aim to maximise the profitability and sustainability of Zamani’s A2P SMS revenues while supporting the wider mobile ecosystem and local communities.”

Strengthening Zamani Telecom’s Competitive Position

Zamani Telecom, formerly Orange Niger, serves more than three million subscribers nationwide, providing fixed, mobile and internet services. The operator plays a critical role in expanding digital access and supporting the growth of Niger’s digital economy.

“Hayo has a proven track record in consulting, developing and delivering solutions that optimise traffic and increase revenue,” said Paul Loveridge, EVP Carrier Services at Hayo. “This partnership will enhance Zamani’s competitiveness and ensure maximum value is derived from all traffic on its network, especially as the global telecoms landscape becomes more complex.”

Advanced Testing, Training and Continuous Optimisation

Hayo’s A2P SMS Firewall solution includes:

  • Daily penetration testing to uncover bypass and fraudulent routes
  • Rules optimisation to adapt to evolving fraud patterns
  • AIT detection to identify unsolicited messaging traffic
  • Anti-fraud training and consultancy for Zamani Telecom teams

Testing methodologies cover OTT-generated tests from major applications and services. It also inlcudes simulated two-factor authentication (2FA) messages sent via international hubs. The result is reduced fraud-related revenue losses and a continually evolving security posture.
