Held at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, the summit attracted over 1,000 creators, storytellers, innovators, and digital entrepreneurs from across the continent, all contributing to the evolution of Africa’s rapidly expanding creative economy.
Strengthening Africa’s Creator Economy for the Second Year Running
Marking its second consecutive appearance at the African Creators Summit, Facebook delivered an immersive creator experience that highlighted its role as a platform built on connection and opportunity. With one of the world’s largest digital communities, Facebook continues to enable creators to reach real people, foster meaningful engagement, and monetise content across diverse formats.
“Our presence at the African Creators Summit was about meeting creators where they are, creating meaningful moments of connection, and demonstrating how Facebook empowers creators to succeed,” said Oluwasola Obagbemi, Head of Communications, Sub-Saharan Africa at Meta.
“Creators who haven’t fully explored Facebook are missing out on real opportunities. We’ve introduced powerful tools for monetisation, audience growth, discovery, and community building—and we’re doubling down on making it easier for creators sharing original and engaging content to thrive.”
Interactive Booth Showcases Facebook’s Creator Tools
At the summit, Facebook hosted an experiential booth and exclusive creator lounge, led by popular content creator Abiri Tobi Festus (Folagade Banks). The activation featured interactive quizzes, creator challenges, and live content creation moments designed to bring the Facebook creator experience to life.
Prominent creators including Ify’s Kitchen, Nons Miraj, Nancy Umeh, and Lolo Mbakara shared personal stories of how Facebook has helped them expand their reach, connect with new audiences, and transform creativity into sustainable income.
Attendees also participated in real-time content creation using the hashtag #CreateWithFacebook, earning instant rewards such as Facebook-branded merchandise.
Fashion, Culture and Creativity Take Centre Stage
Beyond the booth, Facebook powered “Threads of the Swag Masters,” a high-energy fashion showcase celebrating African creativity. The runway featured seven designer–creator pairs collaborating on culturally inspired, future-forward designs.
Leading Nigerian creators including Broda Shaggi, Gilmooree, Jenni Frank, Cute Abiola, alongside Francophone African creators One Khan and King – Ana from the Democratic Republic of Congo, brought the designs to life—demonstrating how Facebook supports creator success across borders and cultures.
Participants were also presented with exclusive Facebook Aso-Oke bags, marking the celebration of creativity, collaboration, and cultural expression.
