Designed as a travelling demonstration and deployment kit, Meraki-in-a-Box packages a complete Cisco Meraki stack into a rugged rolling case, enabling partners and customers to experience secure networking, IoT, and cloud management in a simple, hands-on format tailored for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
Bringing Cloud-Managed Networking to Life
Developed by Comstor’s engineering and enablement teams, Meraki-in-a-Box offers a ready-to-use Meraki environment that partners can take directly to customers. The solution provides a practical entry point into cloud-managed networking, allowing businesses to explore, test, and adopt Meraki technologies from day one.
The kit includes preconfigured security, switching, sensors, smart cameras, and cellular connectivity, all running instantly through the Meraki Dashboard. This enables real-time demonstrations of alerts, analytics, automation, and device management without complex setup.
Industry Insight: Turning Demos into Real Experiences
“Partners told us they needed a way to bring Meraki to life for customers in a simple and memorable way. Meraki-in-a-Box is our answer to that need,” said Ivaniza Araujo, Cisco Architectural Lead, Meraki at Comstor Southern Africa.
She explained that seeing sensors react, cameras respond, and alerts trigger in real time transforms customer conversations from abstract concepts to tangible value, accelerating decision-making and adoption.
A Ready-to-Roll Cloud Network Stack
At the core of Meraki-in-a-Box is the MX75 security appliance, delivering cloud-managed firewalling, SD-WAN, and advanced threat protection. Connectivity within the case is powered by the MS130R-8P switch, providing PoE support for all integrated devices.
The solution also features:
- MT sensors for environmental monitoring, air quality, water leak detection, door activity, and intelligent power control
- MV23M smart camera with analytics, motion detection, and Sensor Sight integration
- MG52 cellular gateway to ensure reliable, high-speed connectivity regardless of location
All components are centrally managed via the Meraki Dashboard, enabling live walkthroughs or independent exploration by customers.
Partner Enablement on Wheels
Comstor expects Meraki-in-a-Box to play a key role in accelerating partner growth across South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa, as organisations increasingly adopt cloud-managed and distributed network architectures.

Araujo
According to Araujo, the solution removes barriers to understanding by replacing conceptual explanations with real-world demonstrations, helping partners drive stronger engagement and faster outcomes. For customers, it serves as an all-in-one, portable Cisco networking solution ready for immediate use.
Availability Across Sub-Saharan Africa
Designed and built entirely by Comstor, Meraki-in-a-Box is now available to partners across Sub-Saharan Africa. Early feedback highlights its ease of use, rapid time-to-demo, and strong impact during customer engagements.
Partners can deploy the kit for live demonstrations or offer it directly to customers as a complete, ready-to-use Meraki starter solution.
