African Enterprise Tech Expertise Goes Global
Cloud23 has evolved from a Johannesburg-based startup into a 235-person enterprise software advisory firm operating across Africa and international markets. That growth milestone has now translated into a collaboration agreement with Andersen Consulting, one of the world’s largest independent consulting platforms with member firms spanning more than 120 countries.

The collaboration underscores a growing recognition that African enterprise technology expertise is no longer just local—it is exportable and globally competitive.
Strategic Collaboration Without Loss of Independence
Andersen Consulting delivers strategy, business transformation, and technology consulting services to Fortune 500 companies and multinational enterprises. Through this collaboration, Andersen gains proven execution capability in complex, high-growth markets, while Cloud23 retains full operational independence, its BEE Level 1 status, and gains access to global client relationships.
The agreement reflects a mutually beneficial alignment rather than an acquisition, positioning Cloud23 as a trusted African execution partner within a global advisory ecosystem.
Driving Value From Enterprise Technology
Cloud23 specializes in helping large organizations extract measurable value from enterprise technology investments across CRM, systems integration, cloud platforms, and custom software solutions. Its client portfolio includes major financial institutions such as Standard Bank, Capitec Business Bank, Absa, Stanbic Bank across multiple African markets, Stanlib, and Standard Bank Mauritius.
According to the KPMG 2025 Africa CEO Outlook Survey, 71% of African CEOs are investing in artificial intelligence and talent to drive growth and resilience—highlighting rising demand for enterprise technology advisory services across the continent.
Why Execution Capability Matters
Enterprise software transformations promise centralized data, automated processes, and real-time insights—but only when executed effectively. The risks of poor execution were underscored by South African retailer Spar, which is still recovering from a troubled SAP ERP implementation that reportedly cost R1.6 billion.
Cloud23 positions itself at the intersection of strategy and execution, combining deep technical expertise with hands-on delivery to help clients avoid such pitfalls while achieving operational efficiency and faster decision-making.
Building a Homegrown Industry Leader
Cloud23 holds a record number of industry accreditations and maintains top-tier partner status with leading global technology platforms. Its services are, on average, around 40% more affordable than those of traditional global consultancies—delivering international-grade capability at local cost structures.
“Most global firms lead with strategy and struggle with execution hereWe built our practice the opposite way: prove you can make the technology work in complex environments, then scale the thinking,” said Ram Ramakrishnan, Founder and CEO of Cloud23.
Investing in African Talent and Innovation
A core pillar of Cloud23’s growth has been its commitment to recruiting, training, and retaining African talent. The firm emphasizes local capability development rather than importing expertise, reinforcing the idea that solutions built for African challenges can scale globally.
“We don’t import capability—we build it. African talent, trained on African challenges, delivers solutions that work anywhere,” Ramakrishnan said.
Expanding Into AI-Powered Enterprise Solutions
While remaining primarily an advisory and implementation partner, Cloud23 has expanded into custom enterprise software and proprietary solutions. One example is Fallon, an AI-powered platform originally developed internally using Salesforce Agentforce to function as an AI Chief Revenue Officer integrated across enterprise systems.
After validating the solution internally, Cloud23 made it available to clients. Fallon is now deployed at select enterprises, with multiple implementations underway—reflecting growing appetite for AI-driven enterprise execution.
A Model of African Innovation With Global Reach
As World Entrepreneurship Day approaches on 16 April, Cloud23 stands as a strong example of how African-born technology firms can scale globally without losing their identity. Its collaboration with Andersen Consulting reinforces Africa’s expanding role in the global enterprise technology value chain—moving from consumption to execution, innovation, and leadership.
