A standout moment of the summit was BDIC’s reveal of its plan to establish a Computer and Hardware Assembly Plant in Benue State. Displayed at the event were prototypes of locally-assembled laptops, tablets, all-in-one PCs, and rechargeable projectors, symbolizing the state’s bold foray into homegrown ICT manufacturing.

This move aims to reduce device dependency on imports, stimulate local innovation, and open up new supply chains across the country.

The summit reflected the strategic digital agenda of Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia, whose administration has prioritized technology integration in governance, education, healthcare, agriculture, and commerce.

Under his leadership, digital infrastructure is treated not as a luxury, but as a critical engine for job creation, innovation, and sustainable development. The BDIC’s work, aligned with this vision, is accelerating the adoption of smart systems that improve service delivery and empower citizens.
