The Minister–Regulator and Telecom Executives Forum 2025, organised by the Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria (ATCON), once again cemented its reputation as the sector’s most strategic convening platform.
The event’s theme, “Driving Nigeria’s Digital Economy: Policy, Regulation, and Industry Synergy,” resonated strongly across the ecosystem—drawing more than 100 sponsors and partners from Nigeria’s telecom, broadband, digital services, and infrastructure sectors.

The overwhelming sponsorship support underscored one central message: ATCON has become the industry’s trusted arena for cross-pollinating ideas, addressing deepening sector challenges, and shaping the future of Nigeria’s digital economy.
One industry operator told IT Edge News that stakeholders now see ATCON as “a platform to crossbreed ideas and engage in meaningful dialogue to advance the sector.”
A Platform for Policy Dialogue and Industry Recognition
ATCON President, Tony Izuagbe Emoekpere, said the Forum was designed to facilitate industry-wide conversations on Nigeria’s most pressing digital and telecom sector needs while celebrating leaders driving transformation.
“The event offers powerful insights and discussions on the industry’s priorities and honours the visionaries, innovators, institutions, and champions shaping Nigeria’s digital and telecommunications landscape,” Emoekpere noted.
Beyond policy discussions, the Forum culminated in the Minister–Regulator & Telecom Executives Award Night, honouring individuals and institutions whose work continues to strengthen Nigeria’s digital future.
Two of ATCON’s major sponsors—Legend Internet Plc and ntel—had their CEOs, Aisha Abdulaziz and Soji Maurice-Diya, recognised at the awards ceremony.
Legend Internet: Championing Digital Inclusion and High-Speed Connectivity

Legend Internet Plc, one of the event’s major sponsors, described the Forum as a strategic convergence for leaders shaping Nigeria’s telecom and digital economy.
In a statement, the company noted:
“These conversations reaffirm the importance of aligning policy direction, regulatory clarity, and industry collaboration to accelerate national growth.”
Led by CEO Aisha Abdulaziz, Legend Internet is expanding its digital footprint through ultra-high-speed fibre internet, public Wi-Fi, and fintech services such as Legend Pay. The company emphasised that Nigeria’s digital progress depends on government direction, regulatory support, and industry-driven innovation.
“Legend remains intentional about contributing to digital inclusion, expanding access, empowering communities, and supporting national development,” the company added.
ntel: Repositioning for the Future of Digital Infrastructure

Ntel, another headline sponsor and a legacy telecom operator undergoing a strategic market resurgence, said the Forum offered an essential platform for aligning policy and industry priorities.
According to the company:
“The Forum provided a premier platform for policymakers, regulators, and industry leaders to align on a unified roadmap for accelerating digital infrastructure and fostering sustainable growth.”
Ntel’s MD/CEO, Soji Maurice-Diya, participated as a panelist during Session 1: “Expanding Broadband Infrastructure for Inclusive Growth.” His inclusion reflected his significant contributions to broadband strategy, infrastructure development, and Nigeria’s telecom evolution.
As the company works to reposition itself as a next-generation digital infrastructure provider, ntel continues to leverage advanced mobile technologies and partnerships to compete in Nigeria’s rapidly evolving telecom landscape.
