AIT Celebrates Milestone Graduation and Matriculation Ceremony

The Accra Institute of Technology (AIT) held its 21st Graduation Ceremony and 2025 Matriculation this month in Accra. The event marked a historic milestone as AIT continues to solidify its reputation as Ghana’s leading technology-focused private university.

1,094 Students Matriculated into AIT’s Class of 2025

In his matriculation address, Professor Clement K. Dzidonu, President of AIT, warmly welcomed 1,094 new students. He encouraged them to embrace opportunities for academic and personal growth within a university community built on innovation and excellence.

“Today marks not just the beginning of your education but your official admission into a vibrant community dedicated to innovation and excellence,” Prof. Dzidonu stated.

505 Graduates Awarded PhDs, Master’s and Bachelor’s Degrees

A total of 505 graduates received their degrees across PhD, Master’s, and Bachelor’s programs. A highlight of the ceremony was the conferment of PhDs for the 13th time, bringing AIT’s total number of PhD graduates to over 80.

Many of these graduates have attained professorial ranks within three years, showcasing AIT’s role in driving research, innovation, and academic leadership in Ghana and beyond.

Inspiring Messages from AIT Trustees

The ceremony featured inspiring addresses from the AIT Board of Trustees, including remarks from Emeritus Prof. Ivan Addae-Mensah, read by Prof. Emeritus Clifford Nii Boi Tagoe, former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana.

They praised the faculty’s dedication and reaffirmed AIT’s commitment to maintaining its high standards of academic excellence.

Recognition and International Collaborations

AIT continues to receive both local and international recognition. The institute has won the Best Technology University in Ghana Award from the Ghana Tertiary Awards for four consecutive years and was also honored with the Best Technology-Focused University in Ghana Award by Global Business Insight (UK).

The university is accredited by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission and affiliated with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). It is also affiliated with the Open University of Malaysia, expanding its global academic partnerships.
